In the 2024-2025 Immigration Levels Plan, Canada aims to welcome from 430,000 to 542,500 in 2024 and from 442,500 to 550,000 in 2025. These targets are incremental record highs for Canada and reflect the government's belief that newcomers are instrumental in driving economic growth and building our communities. Continuing efforts to address labour shortages in our workforce and to work with settlement and resettlement partners across the country, so newcomers receive the support they need to settle, integrate and thrive in Canada.
The Ministers will address the barriers to newcomer inclusion as well as the changes in intake cap on international student permit applications and challenges for post secondary institutes.
