This one-hour webinar is hosted by the Government of British Columbia's ESG Centre of Excellence and will help companies, teams, and individual employees increase understanding of ESG and how it impacts businesses and industries.
This session will cover the basics of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), its importance and the benefits it brings to organizations. Learn how ESG is influencing the business landscape and why integrating these principles is becoming essential for long-term success. Speakers will not only cover ESG as a risk management framework but how its significance has evolved from global markets to locals SMEs. This session will also address how companies can take action and start their ESG journey, with practical tools and resources from the ESG Centre of Excellence.

About the Speakers:
Meegan Armstrong, Business Advisor, ESG Centre of Excellence
Meegan?s educational background includes a BA in Environmental Studies from Concordia University in Montreal and a Diploma in Environmental Protection Technology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver. Her journey in the realm of environmental protection has been a fulfilling and dynamic adventure. She joined the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in 2008 and has been fortunate to have had a significant role in shaping recycling in the province. For over a decade, she served as the Unit Head in the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Section, where she actively contributed to the regulating and implementation of several nationally recognized EPR (industry-led recycling) programs. Earlier this year she took on a new challenge as Business Lead at B. C?s Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation?s recently launched ESG Centre of Excellence, where she offers support, including tools, knowledge, and guidance necessary for B.C. businesses to thrive in this sustainably focused landscape.
Jennifer Horsman, Partnerships Lead, ESG Centre of Excellence
Jennifer Horsman is the Partnerships Lead at the ESG Centre of Excellence and responsible for stakeholder engagement, marketing and communications. Jennifer forms strategic collaborations with external partners and internally, across government. Prior to the ESG Centre, she worked at Trade and Invest BC, facilitating international investment and managing trade servicing, strategic operations and program delivery including executive missions, trade shows and economic grants. Prior to joining government, she worked in business development and marketing communications in the private sector. She handled multinational corporate accounts at advertising agencies including DDB and Cossette. She holds a BSc from Wilfrid Laurier University and a graduate diploma in International Management from Capilano University. She lives in Port Moody with her husband and two children and in her spare time, can be found at a soccer field, basketball gym or dance studio cheering on her kids.
