Description
The Scotiabank Women Initiative™ invites you to an informative 90-minute virtual session on change-making at the local Government level. Together we'll examine the municipal landscape and identify ways to influence policies that impact our daily lives. Then we'll dive into who we are as changemakers and ways we can build and wield power to form an effective grassroots campaign to drive change.
Key learnings from this workshop include:
- Local government jurisdiction & the decision-making process at City Hall
- How decisions impact the ways we move through our cities - from affordability to transit to childcare
- Community organizing frameworks

Featuring: Monique Nicholas - Women Transforming Cities Monique specializes in using storytelling and relationship-building to catalyze community action. She is a community strategist and is energized by embedding equity into policy development.
